Kristina Comforte Named Assistant at Illinois

kc2Former IGI gymnast, Kristina Comforte, has been named the new Assistant Gymnastics Coach at the University of Illinois.

While at IGI, Kristina was a three-time U.S. National Team member. She was the 2002 USA Junior National  Vault Champion, a member of the 2002 USA Team to the Junior Pan American Games and a member of the Gold Medal team at the 2002 USA vs Canada competition

Kristina received a full gymnastics scholarship to UCLA, where she was a five-time All-American during her three seasons of competition. She earned All-America honors on all three events on which she competed (vault, bars and beam) and was the NCAA runner-up on uneven bars. She also captured the balance beam title at the 2008 NCAA Southeast Regional Championships and earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors. As a freshman in 2006, she earned NCAA runner-up honors on vault and first-team All-America status in the all-around and on vault. Kristina had career-high marks of 9.95 on uneven bars, 9.9 on balance beam and floor exercise and 39.525 in the all-around as well  a perfect 10 on Vault.
